Carving & Totems @ iQ

Learn totem carving; or carve a giant chess piece.


Currently we are offering workshops in carving & totems; Nu is an experienced carver and he is willing to teach anyone that is willing to learn and contribute with a few dollars (more info: 6685 9999)


There is also a range of building, landscaping & recycling projects to improve iQ’s community facilities,
...... come & join in with the creation.

 


IQ Community Organic Garden

Plots available to all community and volunteers.

A huge thanks goes out to the IQ COG crew. The IQ Community Organic Garden is established with all involved gaining experience in weed control, seed/seedling/tree propagation, composting, organic fertilising, irrigation and pumping systems, harvesting and maintenance; and socialising.

The garden establishment was supported by a sponsored project with BETC (Ballina Employment and Training Centre) funded through DEWR (Dept Employment and Workplace Relations).


Projects include:

  • bush regeneration - sculpture & carving - design & construction - landscaping - gardening - composting & recycling activities - web design - computer skills - graphics - promotions - publicity - event production - film-making - photography - music & healing arts - indigenous & multicultural activities


    Current & past organisations & business partnered with IQ  include:
    ENVITE, TURSA, CRS, CSO, CVA, BSC, World Heart Music Festival, Community Centre, Peace Council, Byron AID, Byron Environ Centre, Bushland Friendly Nursery Scheme, B &T Forestry, PAN, BEACON, Flickerfest... & many more.
