Dear members and friends of IQ,
The news is good news: the quarry has been re-zoned
(1a) General Rural Zone, which means that, subject to
Development Approval, many more activities will be allowed
on this community land. This meets the objectives of
our Plan of Management, approved late '99 by the Minister
for Environment and Dept. of Land & Water Conservation.
Island Quarry lodged a Development Application for the
IQ Community Arts, Cultural & Eco Reserve - Associated
Infrastructure & Ancillary Uses, and has recently
been approved, details of any of these documents, can
be found by contacting the IQ office on 02 6685 9999
or email.
Recently...
Recent activities included the installation of an innovative
compost toilet, the workshop was held in partnership
with ACE. Thanks to Ray Flannagan, Shane Rennie and
Gary Scott. These and other workshops continue, with
a bamboo building workshop likely, early 2001 with Donny
and Depo.
